Everyone has heard the words, “making a federal case out of it,” usually standing for the proposition that a matter is complicated, formal, or otherwise difficult to follow. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas is hosting a training session that is designed to remove the mystery from matters that become federal cases. Prosecutors from the United States Attorney’s Office will walk participants through the fundamentals of federal prosecution, from how a case begins, to drafting and securing federal search and seizure warrants, to preparing for trial and testifying, to interdiction and asset forfeiture, and beyond, even closing the day with a panel of individuals that have been selected to answer any questions that you have about anything to do with federal investigations and prosecution.
Topics include Federal Procedure, Testifying, Ethics, Search and Seizure, Electronic Searches, Interdiction, Asset Forfeiture, Terrorism, Sovereign Citizen, and Brady/Giglio/Jencks.
8 Hours TCLEOSE Credit available
8:00 am – 5:00 p.m.
A break will be provided for lunch.
