S. Attorney’s Office hosting Cyber-Security training on May 18, 2015

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas is providing this free training course for federal, state, and local law enforcement officers and educators at four separate locations from May 18 to 21, 2015.  Training will be provided by prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and officers and agents trained in Cyber-Security.

This 2015 training will focus on Cyber-Security issues, apps commonly used by students and related security concerns, and vulnerabilities specific to schools.

 

Law enforcement officers will look at exploiting social media, electronic surveillance, Brady/Giglio/Discovery obligations, and basic forensics.

 

Educators will look at trending social media apps, Geofences, Eduguard, social media and child exploitation.

 

Both groups will learn when to call and who to call:  where education and law enforcement have common ground.

 

Our goal is to prepare our law enforcement officers and educators in protecting our children and communities in the ever-changing world of cyber-security.

This training is specifically designed for agents and officers that are actively involved in  investigating crimes.  There is no registration fee for this training but space is limited. Please register before Mar. 24, 2014.  To register, please complete the online form at
